Ron is a Senior Landscape Architect and Principal at JSW+ Associates, boasting an impressive 38 years of experience in the field. As a full member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Landscape Architect, Ron has become a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of urban design and streetscape planning. His passion lies in creating vibrant public spaces that harmoniously blend functionality and aesthetic appeal.
Throughout his career, Ron has not only served as a primary design consultant but has also been sought after by municipalities and educational institutions for his expertise as a reviewing consultant in various studies and major infrastructure projects. In project lead roles, Ron has successfully directed comprehensive tasks, including feasibility and management studies, conceptual design development, public meetings, tender process management, and contract administration responsibilities.
In his current position, Ron excels in coordinating and managing day-to-day activities, overseeing all aspects of project design and development. His keen attention to detail ensures the seamless integration of the complete design process and contract drawing production. Ron’s commitment extends to attending public meetings, collaborating with senior staff, and actively contributing to the concept and design development. His dedication and wealth of experience make him an invaluable asset to the team at Johnson Sustronk Weinstein + Associates.

Brent Schuknecht
Principal Civil Engineer (P.Eng.)
Brent Schuknecht’s journey at JSW+ Associates began in 1988 as an Engineer in training, evolving over the years to his current principal/partner role, a position he has adeptly held for the past decade. With a 34-year track record in civil engineering, Brent is a dedicated member of PEO and OSPE. He not only holds a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation but also boasts a Certificate of Authorization and recognition as a Consulting Engineer.
Brent’s expertise spans the entire land development spectrum, from Draft Plan of Subdivisions/Condominiums to Site Plan Approvals and Building Permitting. His extensive knowledge of approval processes encompasses Southern Ontario’s diverse Regions, Towns, and Cities. Brent’s proficiency extends to floodplain and stormwater management modeling, Low Impact Development Techniques, sewer and watermain design, grading and drainage design, and water and sewer network analysis. Collaborating closely with his staff, Brent excels in team-based projects, a common thread in the diverse array of projects undertaken in-house.
In his role, Brent assumes a supervisory position, overseeing design, development, and execution while conducting a comprehensive review of the project’s technical aspects. His commitment extends for the entire project duration, ensuring seamless and technically sound execution. Brent’s wealth of experience and collaborative approach make him a key asset to the JSW+ Associates team.

Michelle Gignac
Associate Landscape Architect (OALA, ISA)
Meet Michelle, a Landscape Architect and Certified Arborist at JSW+ Associates, bringing over 10 years of invaluable landscape knowledge, conceptual thinking, and detailed design experience to every project. Michelle is a crucial asset to the team, offering a robust understanding of the technical intricacies of the design process and showcasing extensive collaboration skills within multi-disciplinary teams.
As a full member in good standing with both the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects and the International Association of Arboriculture, Michelle has left her mark by completing tree inventories and arborist reports for all municipalities in the GTA.
Michelle’s role on projects involves the meticulous preparation and assembly of design and construction drawings, adept tender document management, and contract administration. Her technical proficiency, profound horticultural knowledge, and graphic skills make her an instrumental team member, especially in developing presentation materials for public consultation. Michelle’s dedication and expertise contribute significantly to the success of projects at Johnson Sustronk Weinstein + Associates.
